IBM Thinkpad T23 Reviews
Only good for business users on a budget, February 23, 2003
By Dave (Portland) - The T23 is an older business class IBM notebook that has been discontinued and replaced by the T30. There are still a few T23s left in the retail channel but they won't be around much longer. The bottom line question: is the T23 worth your money?Well if you just looked at the features, performance and price, it would be easy to see that IBM Thinkpad T23 Laptop notebook is overpriced. You can get a much faster notebook for IBM Thinkpad T23 price or less. For most people this is not the right notebook. However it has some features that will appeal to someone looking for a light business class notebook.
For starters IBM Thinkpad T23 Laptop is fairly light (ignore the Amazon weight, this machine weighs in around 5lbs) and the PIII-M CPU uses a lot less power than P4s and Athlons. You can also expect better than average battery life out of this notebook (3.5+ hours on one battery). The build quality and reliability of this model is higher than most notebooks in this price range.
So if you are a business user looking for a high quality notebook to run office type applications and you are on a budget, this is probably a good choice. For anyone else the price - performance ratio of this model makes it a poor choice.

I disagree w/ the other person that says this laptop is expensive, for what they are asking this is the best value out there. I had this Thinkpad T23 for almost 2 years now, and I purchased refurbished. I NEVER had any problems w/ it. We carry ours all over the House, every where we travel, etc. and still works like the first day we got it. I added memory (512 MB) and recently added a Wireless card (cost $20) since we just got DSL and it works better and faster than our PC. I highly recommed this Laptop to any body that needs a heavy duty Laptop, IBM Thinkpad T23 is also lighter than other laptops.
