Pro--Major thing for me--it supports USB Pass thru, meaning all your player control volume adjustment, hot keys and etc. will work. Almost all other KVMs will not. Seems to work well, the screen image is good at 1280 X 1024.Con--Short, disapointingly short cables. You cannot switch video and audio independantly. Some KVMs allow you to listen to media on one PC while working on another. With this KVM, you can lock the audio to one PC, but you have to open an application each time to make changes. A shortcoming for sure. Switching seems OK, but you can hear the USB devices being disconnected and reconnected with each switch. Very, very annoying.

I purchased this unit to allow me to support friends' and family's computers (not entirely by choice!). I'm running XP pro and was able to effortlessly connect with XP home and Vista machines - no issues. Easy switch between machines with double-tap of scroll lock or using surface buttons (surface buttons handy when other machine not recognizing keyboard such as during startup or if machine is hung). I'd prefer cable hookups to be restricted to 1 or 2 sides - cables from all sides makes placement awkward. USB connect/disconnect chimes after every switch also a little annoying, but certainly tolerable. Have only used it with 2 other machines so far, but very satisfied with functionality, quality, and overall value.

Works perfectly. I connected a desktop and laptop with this. Unfortunately, my laptop only has a S-video and DVI for video outputs. So, I had to get a VGA(F) - DVI(M) adapter. Otherwise, all hookups were easy and everything worked straight away.A couple of things though. Yes, when you switch between the 2 computers, there is about a 3 second lag use the mouse/keyboard. No big deal there. But, the cables are interesting. The audio plugs end in what appears to be a Firewire connection and the USB and VGA connect into ONLY a VGA plug. Seems wrong...but it works perfectly. Great deal.

The switch was easy to install and the overall switch is manufactured well. Has the hotkeys and the ability to change the hotkeys. Also has the audio and the ability to set the audio to remain static to either pc which is cool. However I am not impressed with its performance. Sometimes it'll switch even though I didn't hit any of the hot keys. Sometimes it'll switch quickly and other times it can take up to 20 seconds which can be annoying. If you switch frequently like myself....don't get this product, spend a few extra bucks on something else.
