To answer the previous posters question. Yes HDMI carries Video and Audio... BUT PC video, even Hi- Def, HDMI video still hass no sound because the PC's Video card does not handle PC sound. It typically has No audio input/output at all. So for a PC yer likely to only get video from HDMI.

I would first like to say I love Hanns-G HG-281DPB 28" LCD Monitor 28inch monitor... the picture is perfect for my needs. I do have a question about the HDMI connection. When I use the audio line in with the d-sub connection the built in speakers work fine on Hanns-G HG-281DPB 28" monitor. however when I put the HDMI conection, which is supposed to carry audio and video, i get no sound from the built in speakers. I have tried other hdmi cables and other sources (dvd,360 & ps3). I have also tried the same cables and sources on my other HDMI tv and it works fine on my othe tv. Should the HDMI port on this monitor send audio signal to the built-in speakers? I would like to know if mine is damaged ot not.If anybody that owns this monitor can test it with HDMI and the built in speakers I would appreciate it because this monitor is to big to be lugging back and forth to the store. Thanks

The I-inc Monitor actually the exact same moddle (as in Hanns owns I-inc) as this one but for $160 less, so go and get the 28'' I-inc monitor
