I have not had anytime to really test EVGA GeForce GTX 280 1GB PCIe 2.0 card, but I will say that the EVGA customer support is 1st rate. I had a stupid install issue that their phone support zeroed-in on in about 2 minutes. EVGA GeForce GTX 280 1GB PCIe 2.0 was on a Saturday at 4PM Central time.

Price drop?! Theres no more excuses not to jump on this card. Mine arrives tomorrow I'm going to pick up a bigger power supply as soon as I finish typing this.

Ok Dave C,DemonKing has a point that if you want to play the game Crysis on highest res with 40+ min fps you could spend $500 on a video card... too much for one game !!!Save your extra money for retirement and get more bang for your $ with the hd 3850 or higher ati card That will play all current games on highest settings. Soon that $500 card will be $250 and Crysis will be an out dated game but you will be that much older but will you be wiser or poorer.

A little on the high side for me. I usually purchase around $300 vid cards, but I just didn't want to go with the GTX 280's little brother, GTX 260. I preferred the original 280 (this one) over the superclocked versions as I prefer to do the overclocking myself. This card really makes the difference. I upgraded my personal desktop from a almost 2 years old 8800GTS Superclocked 320MB to this. HUGE difference. Everything is so SMOOTH and stable. I noticed I can play games a lot LONGER as well because of the added vid memory. Side note: This card is HUGE!!!! In my mid size case measuring 19.5-inches in length, I cannot put this vid card in line where a hard drive is. The fit, but my cables don't. I don't have right angle SATA cables (if they exist), so I had to remove one of my hard drives. The nest day I ordered a Lard size tower to compensate and to allow for future expandability. Hopefully sometime in the near future, vid cards will start to get smaller, not keep getting bigger.
