I got Ergotron LCD Desk Mount in October of 2006 and it has gone through a house move, disassembled into different boxes and had pieces knocked off. After finding all the pieces they all snapped back together and it looks and works like new so the finish is sturdy.It's easy. How easy? You know those movies where you draw a box in the air and a holographic screen pops up? Ok, it's not that easy but it's the only way to improve on it. My HP f2105 is too big, too heavy, but it works anyway if you over tighten the adjustment screw just behind the monitor.

An absolute revolution in computing. Easy to attach to work surface, easy to attach to monitor. Using with 23'' Apple Cinema display - requires the $29 Cinema VESA Display. Removing Apple display stand requires removing two screws for which a torx key is provided. Attaching the VESA Display adapter to the Cinema display is as simple as screwing back in the two provided screws. Attaching the adapter plate requires screwing in four teeny tiny screws (provided) into the VESA display adapter (inner threaded holes). From there there are four thumb screws that attach the monitor to the arm - there are four holes on the outside of the attachment plate that match up to four threaded holes on the VESA adapter - it helps to have an assistant to hold the monitor for Ergotron Desk Mount step. Being able to move the monitor to an infinite variety of positions is a revolution in computing ergonomics. This monitor arm really works - and it's not even the most expensive one out there.

My first review. Very impressive design. I am using this to hold a 19'' monitor for a second display for my laptop, which I use to extend my display across multiple monitors. With this arm, I can easily move the monitor out of the way, when I am not connected. Adjusts easily for placement. And it is aesthetically pleasing, a non-trivial bonus for an apartment.

I am a physician and can attest to the tremendous burden of monitor-induced disease. The head and neck musculoskeletal structures are just not designed for long periods of staring at a monitor positioned vertically. The Ergotron LX allows a variety of comfortable viewing positions. Being near-sighted with gradient lens glasses, I find the position that allows me to look down onto my monitor, as if reading an open book, to be a ''life-saver''. This is the finest monitor arm out there. I am now purchasing my 3rd and 4th units.

A.T.A. DATA RESEARCH SYSTEMS INC. REVIEW I'm about to purchase yet another quality monitor for this research center and so we researched the latest options. We checked out this company's cheaper model and this better model and decided it's worth buying this years model for a few good and one bad reason which gets outweighed. Pros: better no screw design, less pivot and radil arm stress due to the pivot ''pole'' tubular design, Main Monitor Screws being tooless thumbscrews, and best of all the option to remove the center pivot axial, the first smaller arm for closer or tighter setup. After Our Review, I talked to our team and we plan to purchase at least one for ''hands on testing'' if not more and then probably pur a line of this model in our shop for retail or display models while we upgrade the total shop to lcd's. TigerDirect has a small but comprehensive line of 19 and 20 in. lcd monitors ready to fit this has a nice household addition.
