My hard drive on my Sony Vaio desktop crashed so I decided to take a chance with a refurbished computer until I can save some money for a new one. When Acer Aspire M5640 Refurbished Intel Desktop computer arrived it booted up like normal, however once windows installed and logged on, my monitor went blank and said ''no signal''. After turning the computer off and on quite a few times Vista became unstable and would not boot any longer. Thank you tiger direct for the 30 day return policy. Second computer did the same thing. After searching the internet it turns out the NVIDIA video card drivers and Vista are not compatable. I had to start Vista in safe mode download another program just to make the computer work. But now it works fine. It is not much faster than my Sony Vaio 3.2 Ghz hyperthreading P4 that chashed to start with, and it has way less software, and Vista is a little unstable. But if you need a basic computer that won't come in perfect working condition Acer Aspire M5640 Intel one will do the job.

I was going back and forth between a few different PC's till I saw this refurbished in a store. I picked it up for around the same price as listed here. It's my first run at Vista and this thing was fast. Faster then I was expecting due to Vista horror stories. Even prior to removing all that bloatware. This PC booted into Vista in close to one minute.Very silent. Even when burning!Honestly, the only bad thing I can say about this PC is the speakers are weak and I wish it had either a better onboard graphics card OR a bigger power supply. So I wouldn't have to buy a power supply AND a graphics card.
