Acer Aspire 7520-5757 Laptop is my third Acer laptop and i am totally disappointed!!! Do not buy Acer Aspire 7520-5757 model!!. The sound is very low and i only got it to a semi bearable level after weeks of searching threads to fox. The touchpad goes beserk as another user reported and no matter what setting i try to adjust, it cannot be fixed. I ended up using a mouse which works fine. They should also never ship this laptop with only one gig of ram with vista as the system barely works..unless you only look at your desktop screen..the minute you open any programs it slows to a crawl. I did load up windows xp on it and it worked like a charm though. Overall the low price did not make up for all the problems i have had with this laptop...if anyone wants to buy it off me let me know ha ha ha, because i am in the search for a new one!!!

Its a great laptop for me. I'm running the best OS on the planet, Vista Ultimate SP1 with 5GB of dreamscenes. It's mounted in the car, and with wireless broadband and Streets and trips 2008, this thing is a lifesaver. We are upgrading the rest of the salespeople in the company from linux to Vista Ultimate. SP1 is the signal that Vista is ready for primetime, and when you add objectdock, this laptop really comes alive!

I bought this laptop having read the reviews and in full knowledge of how slow Acer Aspire 7520-5757 Laptop was with one gig of RAM. I bought the laptop with the intention of wiping out vista and putting on Linux... which worked perfectly and the computer was incredibly fast. Integrated perfectly into my wireless network.

this was a replacement for my first laptop, i only wish i had purchased this one first, im getting used to vista, but still debating installing xp media center on this one, but for the money this laptiop is well worth every penny, as far as the sound issues go to acer website and download the newer updated drivers and problem solved, i also incorporated my laptop and xbox360 system together and what a pleasure to see my videos and listen to my music in surround sound,, im just waiting for my memory upgrade to get here, but this again is a good investment and i plan on purchaseing another for my wife, then she will leave mine alone

I am THRILLED with this laptop! I got it on sale at $599.00 and then added 4 gig in memory (also purchased from TigerDirect) and was able to upgrade it easily. I did have to search the web and get a little help on removing the cover to the memory (the ''trick'' is to ''peel'' it back stating from the left side, and slowly free the tabs.)Once installed, it when perfectly to step through the setup. The wireless found my router (and all the neighbors... so it has quite a range!) Once on my net, everything worked well... I had no sound issues that others had reported in the reviews. And, one thing that blew me away was the quality of the webcam picture... WOW! I was not expecting that... even with the 2 megapixel resolution!One other thing I found searching on-line... some reported mouse issues with the touchpad... mine doesn't have a problem, but here's what one guy said in a forum: ''...go into tapping, mouse pad on touch pad, check the box tapping off when typing, works well n
